The day started off with a great breakfast of French toast and sausage, scrambled eggs and fresh strawberries. Mick gave me all Kitchen-Aid gifts: new measuring cups and spoons, an ice cream scoop, potato masher (which we use almost daily to mash frozen orange juice concentrate) and best of all a new food processor!! My old one is about 15 years old and has been gradually breaking down in the past couple of years. I’m sure I’ll be getting lots of use out of all these new gadgets. Mick really outdid himself with the gifts and especially preparing for the breakfast and lunch at Mom and Dad’s (grilled pulled pork barbecue - YUM). After breakfast, we drove down to Mom and Dad’s church and worshiped with them, then headed over to their house. My picture-taking was spotty – no “official” Mother’s Day pictures, unfortunately – but here is a sampling of the pictures I did manage to take.
We got a kick out of watching Anna with these Spider Man glasses. She was definitely interested in her new look. :-)
Baby Elianna got a LOT of cuddle time.
We celebrated May birthdays, but I didn’t get any pictures of the birthday people (Mom, Ron, Ellie and Grant) being sung to – at least not by our camera. I was having trouble finding my camera at that point and ended up taking pictures with Mom and Dad’s camera. I found our camera soon after the singing and got this cute picture of Grant showing off his 2 new trucks!
The Green Girls!
Here is Trent, very seriously playing “his song” on the piano. When we finished, I asked him what the song was called. “Mater and Lightning ‘Aqueen’” was his answer. Ha!!
Toward the end of the evening, Elianna was getting tired and tired of being held, I think. So I laid her down in one of the few empty spots on the flloor and she calmed down and really seemed to enjoy relaxing amid all the noise. That’s Claire snuggling with her. :-)
