Around here ...

Sneak attack

Bedtime stories. Frances is always a favorite. I remember reading these stories when I was a girl.

Most of the time, he's very accommodating for the camera. ;-)

A recent bedtime when Trent was scared and wanted to get in the girls' bed for awhile.

 Watching spring unfold...

Last weekend was the first warm weekend, so we had fun staying out late.
This was about 9pm Sunday.

Brooke got some new pointe shoes, so she needed to sew the ribbons on. A beloved task (not). :-)

Sarah, Brooke, Claire and Grant have started piano lessons recently. Trent's close to being ready, but not taking any yet, so for now, he has fun just playing with the piano.

These two ... HA!

Prying Pup

We’re planning to put together a photo album on New Year’s Eve with pictures we’ve taken throughout 2014. Kind of a “Year in Review” thing. So, I spent literally hours yesterday combing through all the pictures we’ve taken, picking out the ones that give a feel for what the year was like. I think I’ve got them all picked out and as of now, we have 268 pictures! Here’s a screen shot of a small portion of them

Notice the one of Samson in that screen shot? Here’s what it looks like:

Cracks me up!  I’m not sure who took this – I’d bet Courtney. It gives you a good insight into Samson’s personality. I doubt you could get a picture of Jack like this – he doesn’t slow down long enough. But Samson is the slower, more calm one. And he’s always right there. HAS to know what you’re doing at all times.  Ha!

Snow, Sunsets and Samson …

About a week ago, we finally got our first decent snow, so Courtney took the camera outside one evening to get some pictures.

I love to see snow heaped up on the banks of creeks like this – it looks like whipped cream or royal icing.

And like all clear evenings out here, we are privileged to see some spectacular sunsets, made even more pretty by the backdrop of the snow.

And if you’re outside, and the dogs are outside, they’re right there with you. Especially Samson.

And apparently, we have an unusually sensitive mutt, who also enjoys the combination of snow and pretty sunsets. Seriously, he looks positively pensive here.  :o)

(On the other hand, Jack can’t sit still long enough to enjoy the sunsets. True to his usual chase-loving nature, he’s heading off down the road to see if he can catch the sunset.)
