One of the girls reminded me about a Grant funny from our New Year’s celebrations. During dinner, the gr-apple juice punch was flowing and we were all sporadically offering up toasts, everything from “Here’s to Daddy’s job!” or “Here’s to Jane Austen Fest 2013!” or “To Grandma’s health getting better!" or “To the Navy!” (you’ll have to watch Persuasion to get why that one cracks us up), and so on. Throughout all this revelry, Grant and Trent were joining in, thrusting their cups/sippy cups up in the air, even though I was sure they didn’t have a clue what we were doing or why. :-)
The next morning, Grant came downstairs, grabbed his orange juice glass, held it up and said “To Downton Abbey!” I guess he understood what we were doing after all. :-D
(And now we only need to wait 4 more days until Season 3 starts! “Here’s to 4 more days!”)
