Why Trent still needs a bedrail

Went to check on my little one this morning and found this:IMG_2181 - edited

Since he was a baby, Trent has always crammed himself into the very corner of his bed while he sleeps. When it was a crib, I usually found him sleeping with either his face or the back of his head pressed up tightly against his (wooden!) crib rails. Sometimes I gave in to the temptation to reposition him, but it usually backfired and he woke up! So I’ve learned to just let him be. When we first transitioned him to the bed, there was no rail, so it was not uncommon to hear a loud thump in the night or find him asleep on the floor in the morning. So, Jennifer lent us this bedrail. I know he would quickly adjust and learn the bed boundaries if we kept the rail off, but no matter what, he won’t need it forever. And these are the types of things you do with the littlest, when you’re not in such a big hurry to rush them through every stage of childhood. Sleep tight, Little Guy.
